Jeddah Airport to Makkah Taxi Fare

This is the journey most pilgrims make first, usually after a long flight and often in the middle of the night. The fare below is fixed per vehicle and covers the whole car from the arrivals hall at King Abdulaziz International Airport to your hotel in Makkah — about 95 km and 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 on the road. There is no meter, no surge pricing at peak season and nothing extra collected at the end.

Meeting Your Driver at Jeddah Airport

Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall of the terminal your flight lands at, after passport control and baggage reclaim. You are not looking for a car park or a pickup bay: you walk out, meet the driver, and he takes the bags.

  1. Send your flight number when you book. We watch the flight, so we know when you have actually landed rather than when you were scheduled to.
  2. We message you before you fly with the driver’s name, his number and where to stand once you are through.
  3. Clear immigration and collect your bags. This is the slowest part of any arrival in Jeddah, especially in Ramadan — the waiting time is not charged.
  4. Call or message the driver when you reach the hall. He comes to you.
  5. Leave straight for Makkah. The fare is settled; nothing is negotiated at the kerb.

Please send these when you book: airline and flight number, arrival date and time, number of passengers, number of bags, and the name of your hotel in Makkah.

Ihram and the Miqat When You Fly In

Pilgrims intending Umrah usually enter Ihram before landing, because the Miqat on an incoming flight is crossed in the air rather than on the road. Most groups change on the aircraft, or before boarding at their departure airport, and arrive ready to travel on to the Haram.

If your group would rather change at a mosque after landing, tell us when you book. The driver will allow for the stop and the fare does not change — it simply needs to be planned, not sprung on him at the kerb at two in the morning.

We are a transport company and not a religious authority. On the Miqat itself, follow the guidance of your group’s scholar; what we can promise is the stop, the time and the fare.

About This Journey

It is about 95 km from King Abdulaziz International Airport to the central area of Makkah, and the drive takes 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 on a clear road. Traffic, not distance, decides the rest: arrivals late at night move quickly, while the final approach into the central area is slowest around the prayer times.

Your driver takes you to your hotel door wherever vehicles are allowed, and otherwise to the nearest permitted drop-off point — access to the streets closest to the Haram is controlled by the authorities and changes with the season and the hour. Whichever it is, he helps with the bags rather than leaving you at the kerb with them.

Jeddah Airport to Makkah: Taxi, Train or the Airport Rank

There are three ordinary ways out of the airport, and the right one depends on your luggage, your group and the hour you land. We sell only the first, and would rather set the three out plainly than pretend the others do not exist.

The train suits light travellers who do not mind a timetable and a transfer at each end; we do not sell its tickets and have nothing to gain from your choosing it. The booked car exists for the other case: a family, a pile of cases, a flight that lands at 03:00, and nobody who wants to negotiate a price in a car park with children asleep on their feet.

The distance is about 95 km and the drive takes 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30, depending on traffic and on how close your hotel is to the Haram. Arrivals during the night are usually quicker.

In the arrivals hall of King Abdulaziz International Airport, after you have cleared passport control and collected your bags. Send us your flight number when you book and we will tell you exactly where to stand, with the driver’s name and number sent before you fly.

The driver waits, and the fare does not change. We track the flight number you give us, so a late arrival is something we see before you land.

Most pilgrims intending Umrah enter Ihram before landing, since the Miqat is crossed in the air. If you would rather change at a mosque near the airport, say so when you book and the driver will allow time for the stop at no extra cost.

Per vehicle. The price covers the whole car, so a family of four travelling by sedan pays the sedan price once.

To the door wherever vehicles are allowed, and otherwise to the nearest permitted drop-off point. Access to the streets closest to the Haram is restricted at busy times, and that is set by the authorities rather than by us.

Tell us the number of cases when you book. A group of six with large cases is more comfortable in a Hiace than in a Staria, and we would rather say so beforehand than discover it at the kerb.

Every booking on this route is completely private. It is your group and the driver only — no shared rides and no waiting for other passengers to land.

Yes. The fare you are quoted is all-inclusive: fuel, tolls, parking and the airport’s own charges are already covered.

The fare is the same at every hour of the day. Rates during peak seasons are published in advance on the rate list rather than applied at the roadside.

No deposit. Message us on WhatsApp with your flight number, arrival date and time, the number of passengers and bags, and your hotel in Makkah. You pay the driver at the end of the journey.
